ABOUT ME

Since 2001, I have been delivering high quality translation and interpreting services for law firms, companies, specialists and private individuals for the languages of German, English and Spanish.

As a native speaker of American English, I have full command of the English language when it comes to business and legal matters. Since I also worked for clients in London over the course of many years and have passed the contract law exam at the University of London (UK), I can lay the same claim with respect to British English.

I am publicly appointed and court sworn as a translator and intepreter for the English language in the German State of Bavaria. Furthermore, I have received certification from the American Translators Association for German to English translation. The latter qualification is known to have a pass rate of under 12%, making it one of the most difficult credentials to attain in the translation industry.

Accordingly, I am authorized to issue certified translations in Germany and the USA alike.

During my youth, I was consistently exposed to the Spanish language. As an adult, I lived over four and a half years in Spain and spent two years between Mexico and Latin America. Accordingly, I have a command of the linguistic variations of both continents.

I studied translation and linguistics in Passau (Germany), Berlin (Germany), Valencia (Spain), and Kalamazoo (USA) and was awarded my Bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University. Additionally, I hold certifications in copyright law, trademark law and patent law from the University of Pennsylvania (USA).

My professional experience beyond translating and interpreting includes Deutsche Welle Radio, the Secretariat of Germany's Federalism Commission I and the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment.
